Cookies Policy

Last updated: 28 September 2026

This policy explains how Land Registry Online uses cookies and similar technologies on www.landregistryonline.ie, and how you can control them. Please read it together with our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your computer, tablet or phone when you visit a website. Similar technologies, such as pixels, tags and local storage, work in a similar way. In this policy we call them all "cookies".

Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies stay on your device until they expire or you delete them.

2. Your consent

Under the ePrivacy Regulations 2011 (S.I. No. 336 of 2011), we only set cookies that are strictly necessary to run the website and deliver the service you ask for without your consent. All other cookies are off until you choose to switch them on.

When you first visit our site, our cookie banner lets you:

Rejecting cookies is as easy as accepting them, and rejecting them does not stop you using the site or ordering. No non-essential cookie is set before you choose.

You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. We will ask for your choice again after 6 months, or sooner if the cookies we use change.

4. What each category does

Strictly necessary cookies make the site work: security, page navigation, checkout and remembering your cookie choices. They do not need consent and cannot be switched off in our banner, though you can block them in your browser, which may stop parts of the site working.

Analytics cookies tell us how visitors use the site, such as which pages are viewed and where errors happen. We use this to improve the site. They are only set if you consent.

Advertising cookies help us measure which of our ads lead to orders, so we can manage our advertising spend. They are only set if you consent.

5. Third-party cookies

Some cookies are set by other companies, such as Google. These companies may process data about your visit under their own privacy policies:

Where these providers transfer data outside the European Economic Area, the safeguards described in our Privacy Policy apply.

6. Controlling cookies in your browser

As well as using our cookie banner, you can view, block and delete cookies in your browser settings. Each browser's help pages explain how. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop the site, including checkout, from working properly.

7. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when the cookies we use change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
